GWI asks about channel awareness, engagement and perceptions within its Core survey. However, not all channels are asked in all markets:
No channels are asked in Ghana, Kenya, Morocco & Nigeria
Respondents in these markets participate in GWI’s research via mobile, meaning they answer a selection of questions from the Core survey. The question formats and length of time required to ask about television channels – together with the data-load requirements that come with displaying logos – mean that we cannot currently ask about engagement with specific channels within these countries.
Channels must have official distribution in a market
Because many clients are keen to understand the size and profile of the audience watching live TV broadcasts, GWI limits the channels which are shown in each country to those which have official distribution. The countries for each channel have been discussed and agreed with the industry on this basis.
China data is not currently available
For the limited number of channels that have official distribution in China, we are working hard to build a big enough sample to allow for consistent wave-on-wave results. We will release data for this market once this has been achieved.
